When using a shared computer, it is a good idea to use “private” browsing so that none of your passwords or information are inadvertently stored on the computer. Fortunately this is an easy task!
To browse privately in Microsoft Edge:

You can open an InPrivate window in different ways:
- Right-click the Microsoft Edge logo in the taskbar and select New InPrivate window.
- In Microsoft Edge, select and hold (right-click) a link and select Open link in InPrivate window.
- In Microsoft Edge, select Settings and more > New InPrivate window.
To browse privately in Google Chrome:

You can open an InCognito window in different ways:
- Right-click the Chrome logo in the taskbar and select New InCognito window.
- In Chrome, click the three dots (settings) and then click New InCognito window.
You can also use a keyboard shortcut to open an Incognito window:
- Windows, Linux, or Chrome OS: Press Ctrl + Shift + n.
- Mac: Press ⌘ + Shift + n.
When you’re done browsing, simply close the browser window. None of your browsing history or entered data will be cached.
